2005 "End of the Year" Update

December 2nd, 2005

Hello to everyone.  We pray that 2005 was kind to all of you.  This year was very busy, yet very exciting for us - a rollercoaster of emotions, to be sure.  It was a year in which our faith in God's plan for our lives was tested, and he carried us through it, and continues to carry us through it.  So, I wanted to send you all an "end of the year" update on our girls.  Thank you to everyone for all of your prayers and support throughout this year.

Sarah turned 3 in September.  She has learned to write her name and knows her phone number.  She loves being a big sis and pretends to read her books to Meagan and Morgan.

The twins turned one year old on 10/4/05.  I can't believe it has already been a year.  Meagan is definitely developing a demanding personality.  She's quiet and reserved until she doesn't get what she wants - that's when she starts stomping her legs and screaming.  It's cute for now but I'm sure it will get old soon.  She's 21 pounds and has 4 teeth.  She didn't get the first one until she was 11 months old.  But that hasn't stopped her from eating everything I put in front of her.  She started walking at 10 ½ months so now she's running pretty well.

Morgan has been great at keeping up with Meagan.  I'm sure she could beat out any other baby in a crawling contest - the girl is fast!  We're still working on the walking.  She walks along the couch pretty well.  She's not the ideal eater, so packing on the pounds is harder than it seems.  Plus she has no teeth yet.  She's up to 15 pounds now.  A far cry from that little 1 pounder.  When we first brought her home in January, she had many doctors that she was seeing.  We have since narrowed that down.  She came off her oxygen at 7 ½ months old.  Now she visits her Endocrinologist (Thyroid) every 3 months, her Cardiologist (small hole in her heart) every 6 months, and her Audiologist (hearing aids) will be about every 3 months in order to get refitted for her ear molds as she grows.  She will soon start meeting with a speech therapist to make sure that her "high-frequency" hearing impairment doesn't affect her in that area.  All in all, she has done remarkably well and is very healthy - we couldn't ask for more.

Neither of the twins have started talking yet.  They have, however, started to develop their own little language between the two of them.  It's fun to listen to them on the baby monitor talking to each other in their cribs.

I hope everybody had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Have a safe Holiday season and Merry Christmas!

p.s.  I attached a couple of pics - trying to get three kids to look at the camera and smile all at the same time is near impossible.  This was the first year that Sarah sat on Santa's lap without crying.  When he asked her what she wanted for Christmas she told him she wanted a dinosaur!  This of course surprised us being that she's all girl without a hint of tomboy in her.
